Console 1 Power-user Tips

Softube Console 1 is a unique and powerful tool, carefully designed to improve your mixing workflow. In this video series, we demonstrate some of the features that help you achieve faster and better mixes. Enjoy!

1. Grouping Tracks

If you are using Console 1, then grouping tracks is super easy.  The first Power User Tip focuses on how we can save time and achieve better sonic results by using the group feature in Console 1.


2. Sidechaining

Sidechaining can be a powerful studio tip. In this one, we take a look at how to use Console 1 to take the output of one track and use it to control the gate or compressor of another track.

If you have a chain of plug-ins you love using, or you want to copy settings between tracks, then this Power User Tip on saving presets and copying settings is going to make your Console 1 workflow way more efficent.


5. Solo Safe

Do you know how (or even when) to use solo safe? If not, don’t worry. Our Power User Tip on setting up solo safe will make sure that all of your tracks respond properly in your DAW when you are using Console 1.

UNO Drum Firmware Update 1.0.1

Get the most from your UNO DRUM analog/PCM drum machine

A new firmware update version 1.0.1 is now available for UNO Drum analog/PC drum machine.  Make sure you download this important update and apply it today, so you can get the most out of your UNO Drum!

Follow these steps to update the firmware:

  1. Register UNO Drum to your IK User account if you haven’t already. Registration provides you with access to the Firmware updater.
  2. Once registered, go to the “Firmware Updates” section of your User Area on your computer and download the IK Multimedia Firmware updater for Mac or PC*.
  3. Plug UNO Drum into a free USB port on your Mac or Windows computer.
  4. Launch the IK Multimedia Firmware updater. The updater will automatically find the connected device.
  5. Click on the update button.

NOTE: Do not unplug your UNO Drum while the updater is running. Doing so may result in permanent damage to the product.

What’s new in UNO Drum firmware 1.0.1:

  • Adds two thresholds for low battery status: the first causes “BAT” to flash every 60 sec when reached. The second shuts down the machine, showing a steady “BAT” on screen.
  • Fixed mixer behavior which could cut off the beginning of samples.
  • Fixed potential noise from the FM oscillators which could be heard after the decay of Kick 1.
  • Fixed potential noise at the end of a long decay of the analog Kick 2.
  • Fixed decay noise of the HiHats.
  • Fixed double trigger issue that could occur while recording using pads.
  • Fixed issue regarding sending CC for pattern length.
  • Added CC for sending and receiving sound changes.
  • Fixed Roll behavior when playing back a recorded roll.
